The curriculum is differentiated to ensure access for all pupils. The school highlights the need to reflect the individual priority needs for the pupils as identified in their statement of educational needs and Annual Reviews.

The curriculum is delivered through a structured framework which incorporates long, medium and short term planning ensuring continuity and progression throughout the phases. We use appropriate accredited courses and Pathways curriculum at Key Stage 4 and Post 16.

A familiar daily routine and consistent approach to managing learning and behaviour is an integral part of the delivery of the curriculum in our school.

The local environment and regular visits into the community are valued and integrated into the planning. Visitors from the community are regularly invited into the school, as appropriate.

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is how some of our pupils use technology to access independence and the school curriculum and includes Alternative Augmentative Communication. Eye Gaze is an approach used by some of our more physically challenged pupils as a way to access a computer through eye movements.
