At Ysgol Hen Felin, hydrotherapy forms an important part of our therapeutic provision. Through carefully planned sessions in a warm, supportive environment, pupils develop physical strength, mobility, coordination and confidence. Working alongside trained staff and therapists, pupils benefit from activities tailored to their individual needs, helping to promote independence, wellbeing and engagement in learning. Hydrotherapy provides opportunities for pupils to achieve personal goals whilst enjoying a positive and motivating experience.
Liquid Listening is used throughout the school to support pupils' emotional regulation, focus and overall wellbeing. This therapeutic approach combines carefully selected music and a calming environment to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety and create optimal conditions for learning. Sessions are personalised to meet individual needs, helping pupils to feel safe, engaged and ready to participate successfully in school life.
At Ysgol Hen Felin, we utilise the STA Rockhopper Series as part of our specialist aquatic provision. The programme is specifically designed to support learners with disabilities to develop confidence, independence and essential water safety skills in a safe and nurturing environment. Through a structured pathway of progressive awards, pupils build their water confidence, improve physical skills and experience success at a pace that meets their individual needs. The Rockhopper Series celebrates achievement at every stage and helps pupils develop valuable lifelong skills whilst enjoying the many therapeutic benefits of being in the water.
