At Ysgol Hen Felin, Forest Schools are an integral part of our curriculum, providing pupils with meaningful opportunities to learn, explore and thrive in the natural environment. Led by our dedicated Forest Schools Leader, Mr Craig Miles, our bespoke Forest Schools curriculum has been carefully adapted to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Through hands-on experiences outdoors, pupils develop confidence, independence, resilience and communication skills whilst engaging in activities such as den building, nature exploration, outdoor crafts, environmental awareness and practical problem-solving. Forest Schools provides a unique environment where pupils can take appropriate risks, work collaboratively and celebrate their achievements in a safe and supportive setting.

Our approach promotes physical wellbeing, emotional regulation and a deeper connection with the natural world, helping pupils to develop essential life skills whilst fostering a lifelong appreciation of the outdoors. At Ysgol Hen Felin, Forest Schools is more than an outdoor learning experience; it is an opportunity for every pupil to learn, grow and succeed in their own way.
