General Class Information
- Money – Please can you ensure that your child has appropriate monies for lunch and refreshments so they can access the canteen/café independently.
- There are plenty of opportunities around the campus for pupils to fill up water bottles via the water fountains, if they wish to do so. We also follow the College policy of only water to be drunk in classrooms.
- MPTC (Military preparation training college) support students in a variety of P.E sessions at Rhondda Fawr sports centre.

- Miss James’ class Thursday P.M
Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn for these sessions,
t-shirts, trainers and joggers etc. Don’t forget items to have a shower afterwards!
Hairdressing is on a Tuesday (Year 12 girls) Black trousers and black top to be worn/brought in to change.
Carpentry on Tuesday (Year 12 boys) Safety boots are provided. Please can you ensure appropriate clothing is worn.
Painting and decorating on a Friday (Year 13/14 mixed) Bib and brace and safety footwear are provided but please can you make sure an old top is provided to wear underneath.

Vocational course in Music production and creative arts on a Thursday (Years 13/14)
Through the voluntary section of the Duke of Ed award, Year 13/14 pupils will be participating in numerous fundraising activities throughout the year. We would appreciate any support.
Please contact Ysgol Hen Felin if your child is unable to attend College for any reason. However, if you have any queries and you would like to contact the YHF college staff directly please phone 663262 before 9.00am.
NB: We cannot accept messages from other students or transportation regarding student absence.
If you wish to speak to any of the staff during teaching hours, please leave your name with the office staff at YHF 431571 and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please be aware that we may not be able to take your call due to teaching commitments.
Personal Care items
Please ensure toiletries are provided (deodorant, sanitary products etc)
If your child needs to take over the counter medication during the day, please can you send in written consent and just send in the dose for the day.
If pupils wish to bring their mobile phones into college, there is a system in place where they sign them in/out and they are kept in a safe place during the day.
Homework will be sent home regularly, please can you support your child and help them if needed.
Dates this term
There will be letters sent home to inform you of any trips, educational visits etc. In addition there will be a termly overview sent home with all dates on once they have been confirmed.
We welcome parental contact either through telephone calls, social evenings, parent evenings, annual reviews etc. - we feel this is a vital aspect of maintaining positive relations between school and home life.
